Video aspect ratio problem with 2.35 and 2.40 videos
Hi all,
I use a wonderful Philips 37PFL6606H/12 (firmware : 0.14.76) and having a problem when I want to read a video file on an usb key.
All videos that aren't 16:9, like 2.35 or 2.40 aspect ratio, are expanding to 16/9 so in consequence it's completly distorted vertically and not wonderful to watch.
Because it needs top and bottom black borders, but they are not present in this firmware. Please could you add in furture firmware the ability to correct aspect ratio that are not 16:9. Thank you very much.
Execpt that, I could say that's an excellent TV with HD contents with a really economic consumption. Great job Philips.

Hi
@Philips
I do not understand, why a fix which was made in October 2010 for 2010 TV series, occurs again in 2011 TVs
Firmware 140.23:
Toengel@AlexFix– Video playback (USB/DLNA/nettv)
Picture format now takes into account the video aspect ratio instead of the standard container aspect ratio. Result: Videos with aspect ratio different than 16:9 are not going to be stretched anymore by default.

Yep, that's strange. Thank for your answer.
Philips should do something because I can found some threads talking about this subject :
http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...g-aspect-ratio
http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...(aspect-ratio)
All are for TV v2011.

Thanks to answer.
Here is the link :
https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx...JCst4oBlQMYJsE
This an exemple of a movie intro that is in 2.35. The up and down black borders are not added by the TV.
And it works perfectly on my computer.
Thanks Thomas.

Same problem....
Hi, I have the same problem with my LCD TV (32PFL3606D/78). Any solution? It's very strange you can't change the aspect ratio only using the USB.

Hello all,
i've just updated with v0.14.99.0, and it's now working great. No more troubles around here. Thanks Thomas ...
I have just one last question :
Is it possible to read embedded subtitles in video files ?
