    This happens on

    1 windows xp sp2 desktop - NL
    1 laptop window 7 ultimate 32 bits - ENG
1 laptop windows 7 64 bits home premiun - NL

I did try to stream from:
    - philips phone app - this works fine
    - philips phone remote - this works fine\
    - stream movie music via DLNA server on the computer. Works perfect

The windows firewall has an exception for the wifi media connect. I also tried by disabling the windows firewall.
    Does not help.

The router has an enable UPnP function

    What else can I try?

    Hello!

I have similar problems without any successfull respons from Philips so far.
    http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...ct-won-t-start

I'm lucky to have a Laptop with built in support for Intel WiDi so I bought a Belkin Screen Cast Adapter and now I can use my TV without problem and without any lagg.

    Hi

make sure that the Windows Firewall and any other Security Services are disabled.
Means not only the front end but also the Services (services.msc). Then try it again.

    Regards

Is software that doesn't work with security activated serious? Can Philips be treated as a serious vendor?

Nobody wrote that it would not work... but we have to Troubleshoot and yes, deactivating Secrurity Software on the PC is part of it.

    Hello Thomas,

Suddenly the Wifimedia connect started to work just fine for @ 3-4 weeks.
Out of the blue, like it started to work, it stopped working again and again crashes as before :-(
So strange this error. When it worked it worked just fine.

How do I disable the Services (services.msc) ? To test the firewall?

    Regards,
    Frank

    Hi Philips - Thomas,

Sorry to hijack this thread. But I was having issues with wifi media connect. I added a TP-Link Router to my network. I disabled dhcp on the TP-link and gave it an ip address to the TP Link router outside of my broadband router but in the same subnet.

    BB Router (dhcp) ------> 10.1.1.1 ---> 10.1.1.50
TpLink (no Dhcp and plugged into Lan port 1 of BB Router) IP 10.1.1.51

This i believe is configured as a switch. I left wifi on.

Now everytime I connect to the wifi of the TP-Link, the media connect works 100%.
The TV's are plugged into the BB router on port 2,3 and 4.
I believe from this test it is the wifi on my BB router which was causing the origional issue. whether its Access from wifi to lan or a bandwidth issue I am not sure

I hope this helps someone else.

    Thanks
    T

    Hello Thomas

I deactivated both Norton Anti4us 2012 as well as the Windows firewall. I also swicthed internet provider recently and I thus use a completely new and different brand router. Still no positive resukts :-(
The strange things is, like other users report as well, is that in rare occasion it does work. For me it worked once for 3 day's but have no idea at all as to why it did and now doesn't.

Any other suggestion how to solve this?

    Regards,
    Frank

I also had this problem recently occuring. The wifi Mediaconnect Program crasches immidiately after launching. so there must be another solution that just turning security off. Does you at philps support not take our problem for real, since there has been nothing productive said in the "tips" for us to come further.
    Please
    Best regards
