BDP9600 Cannot Eject during boot
The biggest annoyance of my BDP9600 is that you cannot push the power button and immediately eject a disc (let alone eject without pushing the power button, as you can on most other players).
Instead you have to not only wait until the device has booted, but you also have to wait until the disc in the tray has initially loaded.
Pressing the Eject button during boot does light up the button but the lights goes out after a few seconds and the device does not eject the disc.
Since my kids tend to leave movies in the player and since I want to have a clean desk, this is an operation I do very often and which is very annoying for such an expensive device: Power On, Eject Disc, Close Tray, Power Off. On the BDP9600 this takes at least a minute. Frustrating.
Please fix this in an upcoming firmware release. I will be forever grateful.
Chris (a true Philips fan, although my message may not indicate that immediately)

Hi Chris,
Same here, I posted this a while ago about the bdp5180:
http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...blu-ray-player
Alas not a lot of reactions... I use the DLNA feature a lot of the player, that's another reason why the player shouldn't play the inserted disk automatically on startup in my opinion.
Maybe pose this question again as a feature request to Philips

Unfortunately, Philips doesn't seem to be very interested to fix this.
Common, guys: why do I have to press EJECT four times before the disc is ejected?? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever! Big usability mistake. Not to mention that it is an expensive player.

They are creating a very good hardware with a terrible software!
So many mistakes!
Check the various problems with analogue output/speaker setup.
The new model is coming and our players will still need software updates to operate properly!

I second that!
It's ridiculous that Philips forces the user to wait for any disc which is in the player being loaded, just to throw it out afterwards.
Come one guys: Who looks the same movie twice in a row? Is such really common in the netherlands? ;-)

Oh, that's easy: After watching a BD on the cinema 21:9, I usually am so exhausted due to the deep immersion that I'm completely unable to perform such complex operations :-D
Best regards,
