There is no difference in main-software between an H and K models.
There is only difference in 5000/6000 models (2 DRAMS) and 7000/8000/9000 models (4DRAMS) and there is difference for Italy and the 21:9 models (Q5553)
3D will not be better with any software update for these sets (crosstalk will exist) this is due to the speed of the panels and not the Philips Hard/software. The 2k11 models have a faster LCD and a scanning backlight so crosstalk will be as minimum as can be.
Someone said something about sharp usb timeshift, hahaha sharp, yep they make good microwaves.
HDMI audio drop out? that is mainly caused by cheap garbage you connect, not respecting the spdif format fully. You should use PCM output, wich most manufacturers support.
If you think you want to downgrade for any reason, don't go below 140.34 and don't use 140.37. 140.40 is one of the best.

Hi,
Sharp uses the same software platform: Aquos Net+ = Net TV ;-)

Hahaha i did not see that yet!
Its exactly the same CSM only i see few differences, software id s5551 in stead of Q5551, and the graphics used in the menu, but these are easy to change. Even Philips 12nc.
Ok for that reason i maybe have to withdraw my "hahaha sharp microwave", but other sets i have seen from sharp, well yeah ok, let it be.Last edited by jjs; 12-11-2011 at 11:03 AM.

By the way i see that the release.txt was not updated, but maybe it is also a NETTV solution, as some tv's with 140.40 hang at the NETTV sign up page. So the set has to be downgraded to 140.34 then open NETTV and then upgrade to 140.40 again.
Also i would suggest people not to upgrade to quick when a new release is brought out. Better wait one or two weeks. Philips is known to introduce new bugs, and each new release can bring a new bug. And if it is not withdrawn within 2 weeks the new version is OK. It would not be the first time a new version is cancelled after being released.

Installed it yesterday after clearing all settings and a hard power-off.
Meanwhile I have noticed a new bug : intermediate soundclicks (fixed interval) when whatching a BD -> TV HDMI2 -> TV HDMI ARC -> HTS (and still no pass trough of DD).
Soundclicks are absent when BD -> SPDIF -> HTS.

I agree: I first had my 9705 also from week 40 or so.
It actually had a really bad viewing angle, but I didn't mind as we were always more or less in front of the TV. But the picture quality and dynamic backlighting worked really well (some small halos when for example with the serie 24 then ending clock is ticking and then disappears)
Then it broke down and as a fix almost everything in the TV was replaced, so also the panel.
Now it had a realy good viewing angle, but it realy anoyed me that the dynamic backlight was just like it was too bright for the panel...

i just did i see that the picture is less blurrier now then before with update 140.40, it dont got the sharpness from an older update like 140.39 or 37 but its for sure better then 140.40, but still not crisp how i wanted it, but its oke for now, ooh wel lets wait another 6 months ?:P
so for everyone who wants the sharpness a little bit back go for this update
