BDP 3406 F -> MKV files will not play from USB / VOD DIVX registration video wont rea

Hi,

I just purchased the BDP 3406 to be able to play divx and mkv files on my tv. It plays avi and mp4 from my usb stick jsut fine but for MKV it only plays sound and says its an invalid format.

I tried registering the VOD DIVX (did not know this was even needed?) and the video will not play. It says the player is not authorized to read the file??

I called customer support and they said there was nothing they could do (they only read the two sentences in the manual)

Can anyone please help?

for mkv file, we usually would advise for checking codec. http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...ht=codec+table
but since your model seems not in the list of the supported models... i m not sure if the codec is common or not.
