Angry How come that universal remotes from philips are not supported on this forum?

Why does "Philips Community Forum" not support universal remotes ?

The forum is called "Philips" , the remote is philips
The forum is called "Community" ,my remote is philips, why do i not belong to the philips community ?

    Any way
i have i universal remote from logitech thats working fine, but was limiting me on the max capacity of devices to controll.
I have a probelm there, with davanced configen, that i cant get right or the device dosent support.

So i bought a philips universal remote that can controll more device, in the hope a could config it even easyer and my problem i had with the other remote would b solved.

Instead of being an happy cusyumer. I'm now a custumor, that after 2 month, i still have a controller thats is not confiured like it should, and i'm still using the other remote control becourse the philips one dosent serve my needs.

On the support pages of the remote i cant find my answer of my problem, its mentioned , but not explained haw to config it...

( problem when i have several activities set up , and i switch from watching tv to lisening radio, al my devices that i dont need anymore stays on , switching to watching blu ray, all my previous used devices stays on... )

on my logitech remote, ( seems to be much smarter ) it stores what devices where turned on, on does turn of the devices not used in the next activity...

But that was not the first problem.

The philips remote does not recognise all devices, even its a well known media player and seceral years old ( it even does not recognise the brand )

When adding an know device, not all the buttons are setup or even wrong ones.

When setting up extra buttons ( becourse they are not setup the first time , and recognising those buttons ( of the 10-15 buttons added ) almost half of it did not work until i reprogrammed it again.

If this is not the right forum to ask for help and the support pages are not helping, please point me in the right direction or forward this to the right community, so that a customer that paid for an expensive remote controler, finaly can use its device to where its meant for !

    Hi Didier,

You'll find that although there is no special URC thread the "community" (so some users) will be glad to help you figure out what's going on.

So, to start maybe you could post which is the URC model that you have and starting from there probably you'll get your answers... maybe not a solution but @ least answers

    Regards,

    Regards,
Sorry about that, but after 2 months of trying to get it working, i get very frustrated, even if i cant find no support to the problem.

I have several philips products that most of the time works fine, but now i'm disappointed.
Sorry for any bad language, i'm from belgium and never had any english lessons.

My product prestigo srt8215/10 universal remote.
    Software cpnfigo 2.1.5.0

Product setup on several computers but with same software.

Main problem is to set-up switching between activities, and to get that working properly ( like when switching from watching dvd to tv through a set-up box ) that al not used devices are turned off. switching back or to an other activitie does the same thing, switching off all the devices not used for that activity.

I could add a switch off pulse to all devices as start of an activitie, but some devices use 1 button to power on or off, and could have as an effect that devices that are in off status are turned on...

My logitech remote memorise the state of the devices through the activities, so it nows wich devices are on or off and set them to the correct state when switching activies. ( that i want to accomplisch with my philips remote )

Other problems have a work around and can i fix ( removing non existing buttons on a device when adding a new device , adding buttons that did not excist after adding the device, but the device has , repairing the buttons recently added but does not work, etc... )

My logitech remote was much easyer to setup, i had go through some more actions before it was set-up, but it worked !

On my philips i have to set-up, go through advanced setpu to fix non working things, go through advanced set-up again, to fix things that did not work after the first fix ( buttons ) and go several time through the set-up of activities, the get 1 activitie working.
Finding out that switching to an other activitie does not work like it schould...

    Hi didier,

Now I agree with you... the prestigo models have these limitations (activities) and as I said here you can get advice but I'm afraid in this case this is how the product is designed... Some time ago I bought an SRT9320 and found that creating activities was a big hazzle... now I have devices with CEC and I have to say it makes live 10x easier that having a URC...

It would be a feature thats make activities work...

Is there no possibility that it would be added through an firmware update ?
