Videociety warns Philips user regarding firmware 140.40 (2010 models)
Dear Philips,
I got a newsletter from videociety. In this newsletter they are warning people to install firmware 140.40. They are saying that this version has massive problems with their Net TV app and that people need to send their TVs to repair (if they install 140.40).
So what's going on? Especially since Philips removed firmware 140.44 for 5K and 7K series today.

I also saw this and was wondering, since I did not ecperience problems.
The Philips support hotline was not aware of this and I forwarded the newsletter to them ...
Sounds a little strange, that videociety says you should send your TV to repair, as a general announcement ...

Hi Mark,
actually, firmware 140.45 was released yesterday for 8K and 9K series... ;-)
The last time I watched a (free) movie on Videociety, I had no problems at all. But it wasn't a long movie (in the past I had a problem with the movie "Traffic" -> Videociety stopped after ca. 120 minutes. I don't know if this is fixed by now).
You can find the newsletter here: http://www.videociety.de/newsletters/24/

Why ??
Hi, and the question remains WHY this obviously erroneous message was sent out by Videociety, where do they base themselves on ? And WHY is still the fact that with a HTS 5590 it is NOT possible to switch to FM radio with the TV remote NOT solved ?! When I install a new firmware on the TV, "Widgets" for ao switching to FM radio appear AND work, after restarting the TV these "widgets" are gone. So it seems more TV firmware problem than a HTS firmware problem !
