portable DVD player stops working when car engine is on (PET7402D/12)
hi to all. can anyone advise why my Philips portable DVD player stops playing as soon as I turn the car engine on.
It works ok as long at the engine is off; and it works ok in the house (using the mains)...
Someone said it's to avoid viewing films when driving - but I dont see the point of a dvd sytem for the car, if you cant watch it (rest assured all, its for the kids in the back:!!)
thanks for any help/advice you can give;

Hi lisatoulis,
This is normal behaviour.
It is because there is a protection circuit inside the second monitor of the PET7402D.
The only way to avoid this problem is to power on the set ONLY AFTER you started the engine.
