    Good.
140.44 and 140.45, with image quality hera "superior" well-defined contours, moving images sharp and without pixels. Problems: sound and the TV started to freeze the left half of the image.
140.46-With sound problem disappeared, but more pixelated images, contour completely blurred figures (a night scene with a fire having to close their eyes to prevent damage) and increased frequency of freezing the left half of the image (now it does in all sources, even from the NAS and the bdr with hdmi).
Maybe the problem is hardware only and FW 140.46 is correct ... I do not know ... or only affecting the 37plf8605.
conclusion: my tv also goes with the Philips technical service.
I look forward to resolving the problem quickly.
Thanks and sorry for my English translation.

Hi ... service arrived and changed a "board" (LCT board?). So far "freezing" of left half has not occured anymore.

    Philips Service and Hotline
Generally impressed with and very good: Service arrived within 2 days after call and installed new hardware.
I was sad about the little help/advice I recieved from the repairman about 2 further problems (EPG not working with DVB-S and unstable connection with NetTV streaming videos) I have. EPG problem was "unknown of" (I found it in a few of the threads here, so it is "common") and the breaking connection during streaming was blamed on provider and it´s connection (which is probably true).

Lets hope the "picture problem" remains solved and others like miwiiti can solve it too.

    Hi Philips Support,
after an Update to the .46 Firmware the HDMI CEC Interface between my 9705 and my PS/3 do not work perfect anymore.

If I use the TV remote for control the PS/3 menue, so the cursor in the PS/3 Bar jumps two entrys further.

Looks like a bug. I have deleted and reseted the PS/3 from the home menue and disabled/enabled the CEC Support in both devices.

    Regards

Greetings Philips. The problem with a sound of "falling drops" on the former exists! Basically it is audible at reproduction of sound Dolby 5.1.
The TV 58 PFL 9955H/12 HDMI connection with Asus OPlay, HDMI ARC connection with Philips HTS 9520/51.

I can confirm that I have had some sporadic sound (with our TV always together with picture) loss on our MediaCenter connected to HDMI...
Had to send our brand-new blu-ray also to the service, so cannot give conclusive experience on that device...

    Greets,
    Chris

    Does PS3 support HDMI CEC?
I have a PS3, and never managed to get CEC working with it, no matter the firmware of my 9705. Do you remeber which version of the firmware your TV had, that CEC worked with the PS3?

    hey folks,
i have a slim one ps/3 (so the second version), so far as i remember this was the first version of ps/3 with a cec support on hdmi. the cec function for this device works fine until the first firmware .25, which was on the tv, as i bought it.

So now it is 2012 and the sound problem, which was already there in 2010, is still not solved.
So approx 1 year of development couldn't solve this problem yet. I wouldn't bother complaining about this anymore, this is obviously a problem that cannot be solved. Also the EPG will never be there in these series not will it be in the 2011 series and probably not in the future series.
Also the 3D shall not be improved never on these series. The Philips TV's are already way behind the technologies of the competition when you buy it. The 2010 and 2011 series processor is just too slow to process all things, resulting in sound drops etc. So use external devices only, that's th only way to get rid of the problems.

    hey together,
i have a 8505 tv set. if i set the sound format to advanced (dolby digital, the standard in cable tuner) and if the broadcaster transmit this kind of signal, my tv sound disapears completly and the tv speakers only crackles, no more sound is there.
the ssb is already changed and they have also changed the panel because 3d adverse effects.

the sound problem is occured, after the panel switch and a firmware upgrade is done to .46 from the service station.

anyone know this kind of problem ?
    thx for an answer

I'd like to upgrade my PFL8605M/08 to the 140.46 fw version but I'm very worried!

Should I upgrade my TV or not?

    Hi,

I'm running 140.46 without any problems. Just try - if you don't like it use the downgrade method... (if you have 140.40 lying around).

A bug still present: When watching Net TV after setting a reminder in the progamme guide the on screen reminder does not appear. Same thing happens when watching a BD movie. I.e. the reminder doesn't work when watching other sources than TV.
