Your experiences with FW v0.140.46.0 for 8xx5 and 9xx5 series (2010 models)
Hi,
Please share your experiences with this new SW version here in this topic. Channeling your input will make it easier for users to search and find relevant info.
Discuss here all your experiences when upgraded to the new version: new, old, positive, negative.... (for example, the "sound drop at HDMI problem" or the "black screen during zapping problem" is solved !).

Philips is very generous this Christmas.
Lots of firmware versions to play with.

I think there are more problems to fix, therefore we need to wait for.

Do you prefer a brand with no firmware updates? There are a couple of them out there...
At least you have the possibility to go back to an earlier firmware in Philips TVs.
Consider for example the owners of a "sam"-Korean brand, whose update this week causes loss of synchronisation of audio & video, and they cannot go back to the previous firmware...
Cheer up, its Christmas...
(My understanding is that 140.44 was released with a small "glitch" in sound support somewhere, and once they realised it they offered a quick fix with 140.45 and a more complete fix with 140.46. I prefer quick fixes than no fixes...)
Regarding 140.46, I think that:
a) I am not getting sound loses when switching HDMI inputs any more,
b) No problem with PS3 gaming sound (which 140.44 introduced),
c) I am getting much fewer sound-drops when passing through DD from HDMI to SPDIF.
