Support for models released in 2009 or before
Dear Consumers,
While we strive to support products for as long as possible we cannot foresee future advances in technology. Retrospectively adding support for new features and codecs with firmware upgrades may not always be possible.
Models released in 2009 or before are more likely to be affected by this than more current models due to their age.
Thank you for your understanding in the matter.
Kind regards,

I hope this doesnt affect future releases of BD-movie that often need some kind of uppgrade of firmware for the player to work. Otherwise You are saying that if you buy a Philips BD-player, it will only work for a couple a years.

two-years technical support only ? Not good ...
I may understand this for a 50-euros player, but when I buy a 300-euros player (like my BDP8000) I think I deserve a better service.
Philips, what are you doing ?

Think they talk more about this " adding support for new features and codecs with firmware upgrades may not always be possible"....
