Here's something good about the Philips TV business I think is worth sharing: I just picked up our TV 42PFL9732D/10 (bought in early 2008 as one of the top models, but now almost 4 years old) from the service company (Löschmann & Claßen in Aachen). Both inverter circuits (these are the drivers for the backlight CCFLs) were replaced

FREE OF CHARGE!

Philips paid for it on request on pure goodwill - apparently they also thought, their top-models should last a bit longer ;-) Repair was completed just in time before Christmas within 9 business days.
