    Unhappy HTS won't receive sound from my TV?

    Hey!

    So,

    I have a Philips 40PFL5505d 40 inch TV, which I have hooked up to the Home Theater system on HDMI1. On HDMI 2 I have my HD cable box. I was under the impression, from the manual and the website that while watching the cable input my surround sound will output the sound. I know this is only possible when the HDMI handshake is working, through CEC.
    I have enabled Philips EASYLINK on both devices, and set the TV to "Speakers Easylink". Still nothing.
    I have also tried 3 different HDMI cables. The easy link works as I can control my HTS using my TV remote, but the HTS doesn't output the audio when I select "Speakers Easylink", instead I get the normal TV speakers.

    Any ideas? This is pretty much my only reason for getting the surround sound... to watch my HD TV in 5.1 (I don't care for dvd's and blurays...)

    Hi,

    check if the HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) is activated on your TV...
