BDP5200: file support on DLNA (wireless or cable)
Hi all.
I'm new of the forum.
I want to buy a Blu-Ray player. I found the BDP5200 very interesting.
I don't found information about the file compatibility on DLNA. It can read mkv, Divx HD and Xvid from a network hard drive that supports DLNA (like WD my book live) or from a router with usb hard disk that supports UPnP Media Server (like Linksys E4200)?
BDP5200 is able to manage more different audio and sub inside a mkv?
Thank you all

regrettably, mkv cannot be streamed through DLNA.
to my knowledge this cannot be done by other brand as well.
so i just live with it, when play mkv i just use my HDD.

Hi preddy,
From external HDD to 500gb to 1TB
Yes but the loading time might be longer which makes sence..
Also better next time start a new topic since you are going of this thread...

My experience:
TVersity on windows 7 and WXP (never transcode)
BDP5200 (DLNA cable connected) works smooth with mkv up to 1920*1080 audio DTS, AAC, subtitles and multilanguage.
The only problem is with FLAC audio.
My Wifi connection (54 kbps) is not enough fast and stable to play HD video.
