I am trying to upgrade the firmware of my HTS 3520/55 via USB. The system does not run the unzipped files (unzipped to root directory and no other files) - what do I do now?

Hi,
only to be sure - you also extract the folder? The USB stick should look like:
USB-Stick:\UPG_ALL\htsxxxx.bin

Hi
I extracted the files to [usb:\upg_all] folder but it does nothing. I can see the folder on the HTS and that is all. Nothing auto runs either.

Hi,
be sure, that your stick is formatted with FAT (not FAT32 if possible). The folder UPD_ALL need to be in uppercase.

Ah ok, though in advanced settings iption is there as by other HTS and BDP devices.
What happens if you 4.Press 'USB' on the remote control
5.A dialogue will now appear - follow the instructions to update the software of your HTS.
Do you get any dialogue and what happens then?

Ok...lets try some more, for sure you took the coorect firmware (as we are in a thread for the HTS3xxx series), just checking..
Then you followed exact steps as described of how to get the firmware:
Important:
* Do not press any buttons or interrupt the mains supply during the upgrade, otherwise the HTS may become defective.
* Make sure that your Home Theatre System recognizes the USB storage device before you try to upgrade the firmware. You can verify this by copying an image file to the USB device and trying to reproduce it with the HTS.
* Use a FLASH based USB storage device (e.g. a thumbdrive) that complies with the Mass Storage Class protocol and has a capacitiy of less than 160 Gb. External hard disk drives (HDD) take a while to start up, which makes them unsuitable for a firmware upgrade.
* Make sure that that no other files are stored on your USB storage device. Files that do not belong to the upgrade package may cause the process to crash.
Proceed as follows to upgrade the firmware:
1.Download the latest firmware from the Philips support website (www.philips.com/support)
- If there is no firmware available for download, it means that your HTS has the latest firmware installed.
2.Unzip the file and place the extracted files on a USB flash storage device.
3.Switch on the HTS and when it is running, insert the USB flash storage device.
4.Press 'USB' on the remote control
5.A dialogue will now appear - follow the instructions to update the software of your HTS.
Important: Please remember to delete the upgrade files on the USB before you connect it again to prevent the set performing the upgrade a second time. Please make sure there is no disc in the tray before you perform the software upgrade.
