I have the HTS 3520 unit.
The unit sees other files just fine on a FAT32 formatted usb drive. It just does not see the upgrade file.
I do not have an option under advanced settings for any "upgrade" - you must be referring to some other model.
Of your steps 1-5 listed, step 5 does not appear - there is no dialogue that comes up at all - nothing.

hi there, i dont have a HTS device but some BDP device.
looking into the upgrade read me file from the support website, the upgrade procedure seems to be a bit different with that of BDP. so after unzipping the firmware zip file, there are 2 folders 'for all other versions' and 'for v.12.10.40.48'. you may hv to choose the correct version first and then copy the bin file to your USB. Unlike BDP, moving the whole unzipped folder like 'UPG' or 'UPG_ALL' to the USB. Try just the bin file and see if this works.

Hi
I originally extracted the files for "other" to the USB root directory and that didn't work. So then I posted my 1st message, where it was advised that it needs to be in a UPG folder and that didn't work either. So that is why I am stuck.
