Formatting error
While formatting my WD MyBook Elite (1TB) I got a message: "Formatting not succeded. This type of hard disk can not be used. Use another type USB-disk". No explanation why.
Before this HDD I tried a Toshiba STOR.E CANVIO 1 TB Usb-disk. With that drive I received the message that is was not fast enough, although it has a transfer rate of 625 Mb/s according to the specs.
What do I have to do to use the MyBook for USB-recording?

Dirk7666, I had the same problem with a WD Elements 500GB and my 40PFL8606H/12. You have to keep on trying and spent some time with it.. My HD was formatted succesfully after the 8th attempt. Why 7 times not? Dont know.
It now works perfect.
