    Android app workaround

    Hello!

I've been putting off upgrading to Android 6 for a long time, but unfortunately it's now unavoidable. Can someone supply me with the details of the workaround I will need to keep my AW9000 and AW5000 speakers working? I believe there's an apk file I can install?

    Hello Bennard,

Welcome back to the forum, it’s always good to see ”old” friends again. Are you referring to the MyRemote application or something else?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Have a nice day.

    Kind regards,
    Philips - Christoffer

    Hi Christoffer,

I'm currently using the AirStudio+ app on my phone, which I understand no longer works on Android 6+. It seems like there are a few different ways to access the functionality of my devices and I'd appreciate knowing the details before I upgrade my phone and can't use the current app any more!

    Many thanks

    Hello Bennard,

Thanks for your reply. AirStudio+ Lite should be working with Android 6, we have just tested it here. If it doesn't, then you should be able to access the same interface as on the application through a browser (even on the phone), by entering the following https://[IP-Address]:8889/index
The [IP-Address] part should be replaced by the IP-Address that your router has given the AW speaker, we cannot help you with finding that unfortunately. Please know that it cannot be guaranteed to work.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Have a nice day.

    Kind regards,
    Philips - Christoffer

Thank you for the information. Air Studio Lite provides an interface to the internet radio functionality but doesn't do DLNA music playing, I think? Do I need to use the web interface for that or is there another method?

    many thanks

    Hello Bennard,

Thanks for getting back to me. If you would like to stream music to your AW speaker that is saved on your phone, then please download the MyRemote application that I mentioned in an earlier post, this will do the trick.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Have a nice weekend.

    Kind regards,
    Philips - Christoffer
