Youtube doesn't work on my HTB3524 Home Theater DVD system

    Hi There,

I have just purchased a HTB3524 Home theater system. Netflix works great. When I go onto Youtube the Youtube site comes up. You are allowed to search any topic which is displayed properly with the picture and information on the video but when I choose any video it goes to play it then after about 30 sec it gives the message "Video is unavailable. Please try again later. Please report this error Zh0000zagg0h006aee0ff".

    Can someone help me?
    Kindest regards,

    Hello farmer101722,

Welcome to the Philips Support forum, we are glad that you have found us here. We are happy to hear that Netflix is working as it should on your HTB3524. Unfortunately Google has identified an issue with Youtube on Smart TVs and Blu-ray players made in 2013 or later, they state:

"You may receive an error message when attempting to watch movies and TV shows on some smart TVs:
    • Smart TVs and Blu-Ray players made in 2013 or later
While we work to resolve this issue, we recommend watching your movie or TV show on your computer, or on another supported device. If you're not able to watch on another device, you may request a refund by contacting our support team."

When that is said, have you tried to restore the default settings of the device? If not, let's try that to see if that perhaps could change anything. Please press (home) > [Setup] > [Advanced] > [Restore default settings] > [OK].
Looking forward to hearing if this could help.
    Have a nice day.

    Kind regards,
    Philips - Christoffer

    Hi Christoffer,

Thank you for replying. I have completed the restore sequence several times with the same end result prior to posting this as I have been reading the other posts on the forum. I just purchased the HTB3524 unit from Walmart.ca in Canada so it is only a week or so old. I am guessing that the statement from Youtube "2013 and later" means that anything manufactured from 2013 to the present day (last 4 years) is incompatible with Youtube. The only issue I have is that I also have a smart TV manufactured by "Element" and the Youtube works on it and it is 6months old????

Can Phillips test this Youtube situation on a HTB3524 at your end to determine if the Youtube failure is reproducible at your facilities.

My issue is that Youtube is showing all the video information on the HTB3524 but can't play them while other manufacturers like "Elements TV" Youtube is working fine??? I'll also ask the Consumer's Protection Agency in Ontario to look into this issue as it seems to be a widespread issue that isn't being addressed by Phillips in a timely matter which contravenes this Act.

I hope Phillips is doing all it can to fix the problem with the HTB3524 and other units.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Christoffer,

I just went to the Youtube link you provided in your last post and the Youtube site does not show any "2013 or later" type error. It only shows an error for a Panasonic TV which is not related to the Phillips issue. I have pasted the Panasonic Youtube issue below. Please provide a more detailed link to the specific Youtube notice you quoted in your original post.

"Getting logged out on Samsung TV
You may have noticed that you get logged out of your Google account on your Samsung TV. We are working with Samsung to get this issue fixed. You can help by reporting the issue directly to Samsung. To do so, please go into your TV's Menu, then Support > Contact Samsung. Thank you for your patience."

    Hello farmer101722,

Thanks for getting back to us. As mentioned above, Google is aware of the issue and they are currently working on it. If you click on Licensing error message on a smart TV you will be able to see the statement. Also, there is an option to contact Google directly to hear more.
Let us know if you have any further questions regarding this.
    Have a nice day.

    Kind regards,
    Philips - Christoffer

API version 2 is problem with HTB3524

    Hi Christoffer,

I contacted Google and they say the problem is that Phillips is not using the newer API version 3. According to them Phillips was aware that Youtube was moving to API 3 and that API version 2 was not going to be supported after 2015/2016. The date they mention seems to coincide with the Youtube problems that Phillips is experiencing.

Can your team at Phillips confirm if my HTB3524 unit has the updated API version 3 running in the YouTube app.

    Thank you and kind regards,
