    BTD 7170/12-gaps between tacks

    Hello,
Last week I have purchased Philips BTD7170/12 . Excellent system, great sound .I have many original CDís ,but when I am listening live albums,or progressive rock album, there is a small gap between tracks, which is unacceptable.Do you have a solution about this problem, some update maybe? Thank you!

    Hello vessel,

Welcome to the Philips Support Forum. I am always happy to see a new face here.
Our drivers produce a gap between tracks which is especially noticeable if you listen to a live cd where in real life the band or orchestra along with the crowd do not go into utter silence between songs. We go on clapping/sining/screaming right?
I checked and there hasn’t been an update since 2014 and this update did not make the playing let’s call it seamless. I am not aware of any upcoming updates meaning that you for now will have to live with the 2-3 second gaps between the songs.

If there is anything more that you would like to talk about, I am here to try and answer it.

    Many regards,
    Philips - Katerina

Thank you for the answer! But it is very …strange for me to listening with gaps THE WALL,THE DARK SIDE OF THE MOON ets. I saw that you have similar updates for some other systems, BTM3360 /12 for example! So in percent, any chances for my system?

    Hi again,

So for instance when you go from “Us and Them” to “Any Colour You Like”, I think that is the order if I am not mistaken, instead of hearing it like a continuous song you hear a pause and then the next song starts playing. Completely irrelevant to the discussion but it is breathtaking when bands make an album with continuity from one song to the next and the whole thing is one piece. OK back to our thing, for now I have not been informed of an update, so you will unfortunately listen to the dark side of the moon with gaps.

    Many regards,
    Philips - Katerina

Offtopic! I have a question about Easylink. It works properly, but when I’m turning off the btd, watching the TV,both of them goes to a standby mode 15 minutes later! Is this a normal behaviour?

You mean to unplug the HDMI cable from the TV or to switch off the Easylink from BTD.Because when Easylink is switched off i have no problem with TV.

    Hi again,

Hmmm no need to. I am starting to lean towards that there is something with the TV settings but as a last resort could you please turn off the [Stdby OneTouch] in the Easy Link menu? You should also reach out to my colleagues in the TV forum if you have a Philips TV, if not then please talk to your TV’s manufacturer.

    Kind regards,
    Philips - Katerina

    Hi,

    So to sum things up
if you turn off the device the TV does not go into standby
when the device is on, the TV goes into standby after 15 minutes.

Can you please perform a reset on the device? On the [Preference] page, you select [Default].
Can you also switch to eco standby mode once you have done this? You can do so by pressing and holding the power button for more than two seconds.

    Many regards,
    Philips - Katerina
