WACS7000 wireless WPA vs WEP issue

Hi,

I have just today upgraded my wireless router from a Belkin FSD7633-4 to a D-Link DSL-2680.

Previously my WACS7000 centre and station both connected to the Belkin router absolutely fine with a WEP password key.

Now when I try to connect the WACS to the wireless network, it asks for a WPA or WPA2 password. I have entered the passcodes, but the centre is not finding the station and vice versa.
And when I try to connect to both via the WADM software on my laptop, it can't find neither centre or station.

Could anyone help me to get this issue resolved?

Hi there,

Try the following wireless security settings on your router;
Authentication : WPA-PSK
Encryption : TKIP


Also ensure you are not using channel 12/13 or MAC filtering

Hi. Did anyone get anywhere with this? I have the same issue and cannot easily see the settings on the router configuration pages to change the authentication and encryption. However i presume by changing these any existing devices will need to be reconnected? It would be handy to know it works before i try this. cheers

May I ask what exactly is the difference of both security feature?

What do you mean, between WEP and WPA/WPA2 ?
If that's the case, it's simple, WEP is less secure than the WPA algorithms, use WPA whenever possible.
If you Google for it, you'll find a lot of explanations, such as this or this one.
