Connection HDD/DVD-Recorder and 32PFL5806K/02
Hi there
I bought an 32PFL5806K/02 a week ago and still trying to connect a HDD/DVD Recorder from LG to the TV.
The LG recorder worked with my previous Digital Satelite Reciever perfectly.
I'm running the TV with DVB-S2 Input.
As Playback for DVDs or previously recorded TV Series I choosed HDMI, works perfectly.
As Record Interface I tried SCART (EXT1), but it seems the TV doesn't give a signal at the SCART interface.
the Documentation recommends to add a Recorder to the SCART interface, so it should work. I didn't try that with HD Material but with SD.
Any help is appreciated
Regards Joerg

Thanks for your reply, Toengel.
The german documentation says on page 57 "attach your Video Cassette Recorder through a SCART cable to your TV" (my translation, originally the write "Videorecorder"), so I assume it should be possible. I haven't found any line in the documentation where it says, SCART is for playback only.

Hi Joerg
it is true that it is written in the manual but there is nothing wrong about it.
In the manual you have a long list of Devices and how to connect them.
It is nothing written in the manual that you can Record or that the TV gives out Videosignals!
In fact we don't do that for Years.
To be able to Record Videos to a Video Recorder via SAT you need an external SAT Tuner who gives the Signal via Scart to the Recorder.
Regards

Thanks for your reply, Thomas
Even if there is nothing wrong in the manual it is in my opinion missunderstandable. I nearly returned the TV thinking of a malfunction because it didn't make sense to me to explain how to connect DVD-Players, -Recorders, VCRs and even HDD/DVD-Recorders without the possibility to use the record function (what makes the difference between an DVD-Player and a Recorder).
Anyway, thanks a lot for your answers Toengel and Thomas, and for resolving my problem.
Regards Joerg
