No lossless 5.1 support on HTS8562?
Hello,
I bought this home cinema system because I thought I could bitstream lossless audio (like TrueHD, DTSHD MA or atleast 5.1 PCM) from PC to this system over HDMI.
What I found out that it doesnt support it. Can please someone (Philips employee or not) please tell me WHY it doesnt support it?!?!?
Or if I'm doing something wrong, please correct me.
Best Regards

Hello and thanks for the reply!
This looks like a sc4m I know but it doesn't support it over HDMI (bitstream). Atleast for me I tried with 1 PC and 2 laptops where two have Radeon HD 5xxx and one 6xxx (that means they support DTSHDMA and TrueHD) and in Windows 7 down by the clock where you set HDMI sound, it doesn't show them as supported only DTS Audio and Dolby Digital.
Best Regards!

I am using Windows 7 Professional 64bit with latest Windows Updates, Latest drivers and latest Arcsoft TMT5.2 and Latest PowerDVD.
I got to it to work with PCM5.1 yesterday but not with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA.
With MonInfo where you can check EDID info I can't see support for DTS-HD MA and Dolby TrueHD, maybe I'm doing something wrong but I shouldn't.
Should I try with anything else? You can tell me anything I should try, even if it demands to reinstall Windows! This is a HTPC which I use only for watching movies and no sensitive data on it, so I can play with it! Please help!
Best Regards!

As I said... I get no sound! Because it doesnt support it, when it should!
I tried with 5 different PCs/Notebooks all with Radeon HD 5xxx, 6xxx and all with same results!
Is my unit faulty or is it false advertised?!?!
Bad... Really bad..

Hello!
Please, no question is a stupid question in this situation!! Ask me any and all questions you have on your mind please! Thats the only way of solving this! Im very open minded.
Yes i have hdmi audio in options and there are 3 choices: bitstream, auto and off. They dont change anything whatsoever. Its 100% identical in all 3.
Waiting for another question.
Best regards
edit: can i ask you when will you get back and get in touch with that person?Last edited by devianceluka; 02-10-2012 at 08:52 AM. Reason: edit

Hi
The “HDMI Audio” options are for HDMI out, not for HDMI in. As such this will not modify behavior of the HDMI in.
When you do playback by Optical disc all these formats will be supported.
Kind regards,Forum Mod
