Hi Juan, how are you?
So, I have no good news, not several consumers received the promised by the new philips tv, these people had the same problem with the ambilight I, and I'm afraid that Brazil philips not honored its promise and not delivered the tv for me too
Please help me what do I do?

Here is an update of the story.
I received a call from Philips Brasil yesterday and we started the process to try and set this straight once for all.

I'm still on the waiting list for the TV.
To be honest the whole process is a bit tiring, but acceptable in Brazilian standards.
It seems PHILIPS Brazil had issues with the transition of its transportation companies and as a result all deliveries were delayed and didn't meet the ETA.
The past week people started to receive their new TV sets and hopefully the 20-working-day waiting time will be met or being optimitic overcome.
Not quite sure if you are directly involved with the process here in Brazil, but thanks anyways.

I just bought a new 7606D/77 and ambilight is working wrong. Just as ambilight 1. Firmware is 14-097, so the last version according to Philips website. Philips Argentina says this is correct, no problem at all. But we all know that is not true. They are trying to ignore the problem. What can I do? Is there any solution to this problem? Returning the TV to Philips would be difficult as they keep saying there is no problem.

Thank you JuAn for your reply via mail. According to that, it is OK that the Ambilight feature on this TV is not multi-colour. But, that is not mentioned in any Philips webpage. And that was never said before, even here in this forum. Specifications on Ambilight for 8000 series and 7000 series are the same (on Philips webpages) I think that Philips is foul playing. My OLD 6605 is multicoloured ambilight. So, old 6000 series has better ambilight system than 7000 series. That's insane, indeed. I think that Philips has deliberately hidden this diference, not showing this information. Or... is a design malfunction that Philips is prepared to forget. And avoid paying for that. A shame, since Ambilight feature is paramount when comparing TV sets. So, knowing this NEW behavior from Philips my recommendation to people looking for your products would be: Be careful. Information hidden. New products could be downgraded versions. Keep in mind that "SENSE and SIMPLICITY" could frame the real meaning: "SENSE the hidden, our SIMPLICITY means downgrading". So no replacement from now on. But, if some customers received a new one with working Ambilight... what does it mean? Difficult to understand. I am very upset.
