Use the NP3700 as an audio device

Hi

I was wondering if it was possible to use the NP3700 as wireless speakers for the PC.
I am using Windows 7. I know I can stream music/photo and video to the device but what I want to know is if
it is possible to use the device as my speakers on the PC without using the mp3 link. Just using the wireless network.

Hi !

Technically, yes, it is possible to stream the output of your PC soundcard to the NP3700.
But practically, it is not very useful due to the enormous lag you will get. let's say you watch a movie or play a game on your PC and stream the sound to your NP3700, you will have around 30 seconds of delay (lag) of the sound played in the NP3700.

This is not due to any fault in the NP3700. It's because the stream host is implemented like this. I have tries Shoutcast long time ago and also some other solution (I can't find which it was since the old Streamium Café forum is definitely closed now ;( )
