BDP9600 SACD over S/PDIF playback error
When playing SACD disc on BDP9600/12 via S / PDIF (COAX & OPT) receiver begins to periodically switch between PCM stream and SACD. This leads to clicks and interruptions in playback.

Hi,
since when does the BDP9600 support SACD? I think, you have a SACD with an additional CD-Audio layer... and the standard audio is player (not 5.1).
Which firmware is isntalled on your BDP? 1.61 is the latest (if you need to update, please remove all discs BEFORE!).

The question is not supported SACD. The question in the crash when using S/PDIF and SACD on the BDP9600 (FW 1.61). As a receiver I used Onkyo PR-SC5509 and the Denon AVR3806. The result is the same: lights SACD and playback starts. two seconds... SACD switches to PCM (click in the speakers). two seconds... PCM switches to SACD (click in the speakers). and so on...
That is needed to enable or completely disable the SACD stream on S/PDIF. I do not want to hear clicks when playing SACD, and the activation of the PCM actually deprives me transfer Dolby streams on S / PDIF.
PS Use the analog outputs BDP9600 please do not offer.Last edited by netcipher; 02-06-2012 at 05:09 AM.

Hi,
I have a dual layer SACD (5.1 and Stereo) at home - I will test what happen on my BDP9600. However, SACD is not supported officially by the BDP9600.

Hi,
If BDP9600 do not SACD support, then the disable completely the flow of SACD on the S / PDIF. Otherwise, to listen to clicks or dropouts when playing SACD through S / PDIF. This is a programming error that should be corrected in firmware.

is your SACD a dual-layer SACD?

Hi,
if SACD is indeed working somehow (I will test it in the evening) - this would be great!

Hi,
I just tested my "Dark Side Of The Moon" (Pink Floyd) Hybrid SACD. My BDP plays well the CD-Audio layer over SPDIF. It's just like playing any other CD.

Dear users,
We have confirmed that SACD is not supported by our 2010 and 2011 models. It will be supported by two of our 2012 models.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused to you. For the design issue that you mentioned, we will feedback this to our team.
Thanks a lotForum Mod
