MKV Files, no chapter forward/back possible
Hello,
i have a 47PFL7606K TV. If i stream mkv files (h.264, Constant Bitrate) files it is not possible to choice chapters or to use the chapter forward function.
I have tested differend files with different streaming client, also connected directly by usb.
1. Test streaming fom NAS (UPnP) Storage with
a) TV PFL7606: viewing is ok, next chapter, chapter choice or restart at old position is not possible
b) Philips BluRay player DBP6000/12: viewing is ok, next chapter, chapter choice or restart at old position is not possible
c)Asus O!Play Air HDP-R3: viewing, chapter forward function, stop and restart at the old position works fine
2. Test streaming fom USB Storage with
a) TV PFL7606: viewing is ok, next chapter, chapter choice or restart at old position is not possible
b) Philips BluRay player DBP6000/12: viewing, chapter forward function, chapter choice works fine
Why is it not possible to choice chapters while streaming by UPnP?
What is the cause the DBP6000 can choice chapters from USB and the 47PFL7606K not?
Thomas

Hi
this is a limitation of the Firmware.
We only give basic Playability Functions.
To have all the Features you want, just use a dedicated Media Player like our HMP Devices or a Blu Ray Player like the one you mentioned yourself.

Hi,
this is very disappointing for me. For example, if i stop viewing a film in the middle and want to restart at the same point one day later, it's not possible. I have to start from the beginning.
That's not useful. And it's not what i have expected from your promotion.
Is there a plan to expand the functionality?
Kind regards - Thomas

Not too smart tv
Diasappointed to read that the ambition from Philips is only to provide customers with mediocre technology and experiences. The migration of tv, network and presentation digital medias into one device capable of handling it all is obvious. And what a great opportunity for consumers to reduce number of devices by a factor of at least two. Yes, at a higher cost but justified if the synology effect of joining the technologies into the same unit appears. But why is the ambition then not to do it at least as good as the devices it replaces, when boldly sold as a smart tv? It seems like the lowest denominator is used to set the barrier for performance. Please, keep ambitions high and remember to keep customers satisfied.
Regards, René
