3d glasses + shamefull cs
I recently purchased a wonderfull Philips 9000 series Smart LED TV 46PFL9706T 117 cm (46"). Unfortunately the 3d glasses required (and recommended) for this tv aren't available anywhere for the upcoming 2-3 weeks*.
*Which is, imo, not a good way to start my 3d experience.. minus 1 point
*There should (at least) be one set of 3d glassesprovided with the tv, which isn't (for a tv in this pricerange very sad).. minus 1 point..
*I called customer service to ask about the availebility in my country but the guy was very uninterested and rude to me.. Caanntt hheellpp yyoouu ssiirr, ii''mm ssoorryyy.. I'm shocked
MINUS 1 POINT..
Anyway, since I bought the tv and it's already attached to the house, I will put those glasses on order and wait for it to be deliverd..
My question: do I really need the active glasses or can I use the easy glasses to view 3d movies?

Hi,
No you really need active glasses as they are two complete different 3D techniques.
But you're saying that in you're whole country there is no show that has a pair of PTA516 active glasses?
Have you've tried any online shop?
Good luck!
Chris

I have the same TV 46PFL9706, can we use universal active 3d glasses found on EBay from other companies or only the PTA 516 will work with this TV? If anyone knows and can recommend something please do. Thanks...!!

I have the same problem with ordering 3D glasses. I have the 46PFL8606H/12 and ordered at the end of december 2011 a couple of 3D glasses type PTA516. Everytime the order was delayed. Yesterday I receive an e-mail that the next expected due date is 1 april. So after waiting more then 2 months I cancelled the order. Philips should be ashamed that they don't have accessories available of their product. I can understand some delay if the product is wanted but this is not really acceptable.
