    Question High resolution audio on Philips 9000 BR players

    After the release of the 9000 series of BR players I was expecting and hoping that Philips would include SACD and DSD support capabilities in this product range. Why else would one need 7.1 audio analog output and Burr Brown D/A converters as are provided on the latest 9000 series player. Will we be getting BR players that feature DSD support in the future ?

    Hi,

    as far as I know, the upcoming BDP9700 will support SACD. But I didn't heard anything about DSD...

    Good to know. Are any specs available already ? (SACD playback uses DSD as datastream protocol). My existing 963SA and DVP9000SA are running on their last legs and do not support DSD over HDMI.
