MCD908/12 DVD Drive does not work! Help!!
At once the DVD drive on our Micro Theatre MCD08 does not work any more.
We put CD or DVD into the drive and nothing happens. It does not start or turn.
The radio (tuner) works.
I cannot enter the system menue as no pickture shows up on the TV screen so I can no access anything.
If defective, can a new tuner / DVD block be purchased or do I have to purchase a whole new system?
Thanks for your assistance.

MCD908/12 DVD Drive does not work! Help!!
I have taken my system to the specialised Audio - Video store and they could not fix it they sent it into the Philips Service Center and it seems that the EPEG Decoder is defective. This EPEG Ship is on the mainboard as I have been informed and the whole mainboard would have to be replaced but Philips does not manufacture this mainboard anymore so the system can not be repaired!!! This is quite sad as the system was high priced and is not even 6 years old!!!! Does anyone have an other ideas for it is a shame to dispose of the good system and then have to buy a new one for many 100's of EUROS. I would expect that Philips would at least offer a discount for a new system.
