Videoformat proplems with 1920*800 files
Hello I have some 3d videofiles (matroska files in matroska container) with 1920*800 resolution - this is a common aspect ratio for movies.
So the problem is if it is a 3d top and bottom movie (400px height for each eye) the hts is stretching it to 1080px height and sends this to my pfl7606k so I get eggheads instead of normal heads e.g.
Whatever settings I try on both (tv and hts) nothing really changes.
Normal way should be filling on top and bottom of both pictures (left/right eye) black bars with a height of (1080px - videofile.height)/4 so the aspectratio of the movie keeps - independet of what format the input file has.
Afaik the same problem occurs with 1080*800 half side by side content ..
Would it be possible to play also full side by side and/or frame packed content? I think the system should have enough power to handle those material also.
An other major problem of the 7000 tv series respectively the hts mediaplayer is the lack of possibility to swap pictures for left and right eye because some movies have not the normal order. I think it should be possible to easily implement this feature in the firmware.. isn't it?

Hi IZSkiSurfer,
Which software did you used to extract your BD disk?
I am using makemkv (makemkv.com) for doing this.
Have no issues like you are describing here.
Ciao.

Was a friend's mkv so I'll could check that later..
Have you checked the resolution of your MKV? Does it really has 1920*800 or something else where height is smaller than 1080?
PS: I have the HTS4282/12 and the mkv delivered via usb (TVersity will transcode to proper format or tv scales correct)Last edited by IZSkiSurfer; 03-08-2012 at 01:50 PM.
