    Hello, more sections please in this forum

    I am new to this forums, Why dont we have section feedback, discussion and events, product release etc section on our philips community.

    On this forum you can discuss all Philips TV, Philips Blu-Ray, and Philips Sound related topics.
    Major events are discussed here as well.

    The forum already has many sections.
    Adding more sections will not contribute to its functionality.
    A search-engine is included to help you finding what you are looking for.

    Note: The PHILIPS.COM website provides all product information.

    Hello JuAn,

    Much like the topic starter I wondered where the actual community sections were. And why is there no section on, for example, coffee makers? Your above reply provides the answer to those questions, which made me wonder about something else.

    Basically, could you explain why this forum is called the "Philips Community Forum"?

    Because that name generates expectations, such as:
    1) This forum is more than just a support forum.
    2) This forum is about all Philips products.

    As said, your reply makes clear these are expectations this forum is not intended to satisfy. Consequently I would suggest three simple changes to avoid future misapprehension regarding the function of this forum:
    1) Change the name of the forum to clarify what it is (and isn't): A support forum.
    2) Add a subtitle to clarify that this forum in fact does not provide support for all Philips products, but only a limited range of products.

    Oh, and change the welcome mail. And change not just the name, but also the message. Many who register do so because they have a problem. Make the welcome mail useful to them, rather than agitating - they are not here to enjoy their stay, they have a (persistent) problem that pains them enough to take action (and go through the ordeal of registering).
