Serie 9000: Slide show from USB-disk
In an USB-Disk connected to a 32PFL9606K/02 a have some directories with JPEG-photos. The photos in each directory are sorted in ascending alphabetic order per filename (Windows 7 Explorer)
If I start a slide-show of one of these directories the photos are shown in a random order

Hi
format your USb Stick on the PC.
go to the Directory where you got your Photos, copy and past them to the USB Stick only by using Keyboard shortcuts!
No MOUSE!
(CTRL+A to mark all)
(CTRL+C to copy)
(CTRL+V to past them)

Thomas!
The "No mouse" recommandation is Hotline-nonsense.
I tried it several times and it did not work.
In both cases "with mouse" and "no mouse" you can not control the physical places on the disk where the data are stored

Hi,
of course it does matter. If you mark more than one file, and pick up the selected with the mouse. The file under the mouse cursor has some prioprity. This does not happen by using the keyboard. In this case the order is taken as they are listed.

Hi Toengel
I wrote:
„I tried it several times and it did not work“
I tried it once more today after your post with both methods „with mouse“ and „NO Mouse“
A directory with 503 pics in total 2,06 GB
In both cases the pics were not displayed in a (for me) random order not in an alphabetic ascending order like on the PC.
In addition I connected the same disk to a netgear media player. On that media player both versions were displayed in correct order

You wrote: „format your U S B S t i c k on the PC.
go to the Directory where…….“
I think this makes the difference:
If I format the „U S B – S t i c k“ and copy just one series of pics to the USB-stick, probably it will work with CTRL/A,C,V
But at present we have a digital age with >1 TB disks and several thousends pics stored on the disks in different directories. And occasionally you add in a new directory a new series of pics. Then the procedure „Format your USB-XXXX“ is not practicable.

Hi
Sure xTB Hard Drives are very common abut as you wrote yourself:
A directory with 503 pics in total 2,06 GB
So its either you want to have a Solution (which requires testing and the possibility that the Solution don't satisfy you)
or you want to leave it like it is.

Probably I did not understand what you mean.
Yes I want to have a solution, but for an USB-Disk with more than one directory, let say 100 or more. Most people have more than 100 photo-series and occasionally they went out and take new photos and like to add these photos to a new directory on the disk.
What is your solution for that? I tested the CTRL A,V,C version with an 1 TB disk several times and it did not work.

Edgar

Hi
the Solution is to Format the Disc/Drive/Stick, whatever and do it in the way i posted above.
You can do it with a USB Stick first so you can see that it works.

I am sorry but I need additional information
At present I use 1 TB disk with approx 500 GB (photos, Audios, Videos) data stored on that disk.
To format this disk I have to buy an additional disk to save these data or use this new disk for your procedure - Format and CTRL A/C/V.
I assume I can not do your procedure - Format and CTRL A/C/V - on directory basis, I have to do that on file basis. it means step by step for each of my appox 100 directories. Is that right?
When I have done that for all my approx 100 directories, do you think all photos in all approx 100 directory will shown in alphabetic ascending order?
And when I add a new directory with a new photo series next month all the photos in the the old approx 100 and this new directory will be in alphabetic ascending order??
I ask for some understanding, but I have do buy a new disk and then I have to do 100 CTRL A,C,V. I like to know in advance if I will be successful or not.
Regards
Edgar
PS: I tested it allready with an USB-stick. But USB-sticks are not my favourite storage device annd I have an old USB-stick with not more than 1 GB. The test with 250 photos a 4 MB will not be significant. I will do it with a disk if your answers to my questions above will be positive

Hi
if you do the procedure as described above, the order will be as same as shown on the Windows Explorer.

Hi Philips – Thomas
I had time enough today:
Step 1
I bought a new WD 1 TB 2,5 disk. Even it was new I formatted this disk and copied 5.842 Photos in 39 directories in total 26,66 GB
The result was: the same pictures that were displayed in a wrong sequence on my old disk were also in a wrong sequence Copied with the Philips-Procedure „Format – CTRL A,V,C.
Step 2
To prove that I formatted the disk once more and copied the same photos in the same directories „with the mouse“ and the result was the same as in step 1.
Step 3
Together with the unbelievable TvTv/Gracenote IP-Programming the 32PFL9606K/02 is unusable. My right of withdrawal ends on next Monday. I will send the TV back to my online-shop tomorrow and quit the posting to this topic now.

Who is right??
Philips-Thomas or Philips-Support? what ist the comment of the all knowing Toengel
Chat with Philips-Support today
Susann Drechsler: Einen kleinen Moment bitte. Ich leite Sie an die zuständige Fachabteilung weiter.
Der Chat wurde weitergeleitet an Ronny Meyer
Susann Drechsler hat den Chat verlassen
Ronny Meyer: Guten Tag
Ronny Meyer: Ja das ist vollkommen willkürlich wie der TV das anzeigt
Ronny Meyer: man kann es nur erzwingen indem mann
Ronny Meyer: die einzelnen Bilder nacheinander auf der Festplatte kopiert
Ronny Meyer: also bild1 kopieren dann einfügen
Ronny Meyer: ICh hätte ihnen gern was anderes gesagt
Ronny Meyer: Sorry

Hi,
TVs and BDPs sort files according to the File Allocation Table. So you need to copy the files in the direct order to the drive. This can be done by copying one-by-one or via the described function by marking and copying via keyboard only.
