EPG record start/stop time - cut recordings
Hello,
When will the recording start/stop on a digital channel. Start it, when the program begins or exactly at the time that was programed. in earlier times on my VCR I manually changed the start time to start 1 minute earlier and stop 30 minutes later, than the program is regular planed. Is this in Digital TV necessary?
And the next question: Is it possible to cut (manually or automatic) the begin/end or advertising? Eg. to save HDD capacity or make it easier to watch the recording later.

hi,
and when stops the TV with the recording?
In my test I have programmed 08:14 pm and the program began at 08:15 pm and there was about 1 minute prerecording before the right program starts. I can't believe that the TV will start some Minutes earlier.

Hi
on manual Recordings the automatic does not come in.
That only counts if you schedule a Recording for a Show shown up in the EPG.

Hello Thomas,
When I program a recording of a show in the EPG on my TV (32PFL7606H12, FW14.93) I get:
Start time = Start time as listed in the IP-EPG
Stop time = Stop time as listed in the IP-EPG plus 10 minutes.
There is no "some minutes before" and no link to "the actual start time of the program".
So every time I have to manually adjust the start time to avoid the risk of missing the start of the program.
I understand from your post that this is not the way the TV should function.
So I hope you can tell me how to fix this, is this some setting or is my TV faulty?
Best regards,
L1

Hi Alex,
Yes, same behaviour with FW14.96, so recording starts at the listed start-time in the IP-EPG.
Can you confirm recording starts "some Minutes before the actual Start Time of the Program" in your experience?
Best regards,
L1

That's exactly what I've experienced so far on my 32PFL7476H/12 @ 0.14.96.0, and that's the way it's always been since the PVR functionality has been introduced for TV550R3 (2k11). By the way: this is also how I would expect the PVR function to work.
@ Thomas: either the PVR implementation is wrong since the very beginning (I don't believe in this, to be honest) or there are some wrong facts given in your post. Please reconfirm how it's supposed to work.

Hello Thomas,
Do you still plan to answer?
I can not imagine it takes over 3 weeks for Philips to confirm how features of a product from the current product line-up are supposed to work.
Best regards,
Leen
