32PFL4505D/F7 Backlight Brightness Fluctuation

I just bought a Philips 32PFL4505D/F7 to use as a PC monitor via a DVI-to-HDMI cable.

How can I disable the automatic brightness adjustment of the backlight? It becomes very annoying when scrolling web pages or switching applications.

Also, I hear some whining (from PWM?) when using Eco mode to dim the backlight brightness. Do all Philips LED TVs have this problem?

What are the options available for backlight in the menus?
Also, ensure that dynamic contrast & the light sensor (if exists) are disabled.

I have gone through every option in the menu but cannot find anything that affects the backlight except Eco mode. Eco mode only appears to dim the display globally but the automatic brightness adjustment is apparent whether Eco mode is on or off. There are also no options for dynamic options or light sensor.
