    Backlighting not uniform?

    I recently purchased a 55PFL7705DV LED-lcd TV. When the tv displays a black picture, I noticed some of the corners and other areas are brighter, giving a nonuniform picture. Is this normal for the TV?

    It is not normal for the client, but it is a widespread phainomenon, known as "clouding". It comes in the form of "patches" that are brighter, and at the panel corners (known also as "torchlight").

    There is no LCD panel that is uniform, but the degree varies among panels. There are panels with more clouding, and other with less.
