DVB-T optical out sound format
I have a soundbar which I want to connect to my philips 46PFL6606T thru the optical out. Problem is the dvb-t broadcast is using a sound format the soundbar don't handle (he-aac dolby pulse?). I have changed from advanced to standard sound format in the channel setting menu, but the sound format did not change, and there is no sound.
Is there any way to get this to work?

I remember a similar thread here: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...gn-for-digital
Do you hear any sound from the TV on this channel?
If yes, you selected PCM and you hear no sound from the sound-bar?

The dvb-t channels are unscrambled. No cam and no card. There is no sound at all on these channels thru the optical out. The soundbar I am using is a harman/kardon sb15. I can't find any information about what sound formats it accepts. To me it looks a bit like it does not accept either dd 5.1, or pcm, which are the formats the tv can output. Could that be possible? A product which has digital sound input, but does not accept standard pcm sound?

When I press options and select status, the status screen says: Sound: HE-AAC/Dolby Pulse.
The help-menu says I can set prefered sound format to either standard or advanced, the actual sound formats being mpeg (standard) or aac, eac-3 or ac-3 (advanced).
However changing this setting does not change the sound format reported by the status screen. It always remains "HE-AAC/Dolby Pulse".
Is this a bug, or is the standard sound stream missing from the broadcast, or does the tv not have the capability to output the "standard" sound format?

I would advice you to update to latest software via USB: Versjon: 000.014.098.000, Dato publisert: 2012-05-16.
You can do this from this link : http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/d...&slg=no&scy=NO

Ok, that's done. Did not make any difference though. Both the advanced and the standard setting still give me "HE-AAC/Dolby Pulse".

in settings menu, you can find easylink.
if HDMI-ARC is ON (this is default setting) then you have no sound via optical.
switch-off HDMI-ARC and you will have digital sound output.
