Android Keyboard doesn't work in Youtube App
Just recently having bought a Philips 37PFL7676K/02, I tried its Youtube feature. It's quite nice (although there's still some room for improvement
); I noticed one annyoing error, though: When trying to search for a video, only the input via the remote control works; when trying to enter text via the keyboard on the "MyRemote" App for Android, the Youtube app on the Television behaves weirdly. When e.g. entering the character "a", the TV prints "2", and immediately also starts searching. So the Android App keyboard is unusable for searching inside the Youtube App. But that would be the one place in handling the TV that I would need the keyboard from the Android App most!
Would be great if Philips could do something about it; thanks in advance!Last edited by bfroehler; 03-12-2012 at 11:17 AM. Reason: added thanks in advance

Hi,
it's a known issue of the YouTube Leanback. We all hope that YouTube/Google will fix that app.

Ah yeah just found other users complaining about that as well:
http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...TV-is-UNUSABLE
So the App is from Youtube/Google itself? That's weird, Google should definitely pay attention that Android Apps work together with their services... or is there maybe something wrong in the interaction between the Android App and the Net TV Apps? Anybody got any experience with the Android App keyboard in any other Net TV App?

yes, most of the apps are provided by third parties. Philips NET TV is just the plattform. have a look here: http://yourappontv.com/about-nettv/why-publish-on-nettv .
because google/youtube doesn´t earn money with philips they are not really interested in this app...

You can try to use the feedback button on NET TV. Another direct way to communicate with google is hardly possible. Youtube is aware of this bad app and "promised" a better app in long term. so you just to have to be patient. Maybe you can try the streaming possibility of iMediashare app. You will see that this android app is more handy than everything else.

Tried to enter some feedback today, but even there, there seems to be a problem with the Android keyboard: Special characters (like the parenthesis "(", produce weird results - instead of actually entering the parenthesis character, the TV interprets this input as if the arrow keys on the remote were pressed or something... So only entering a very simple text works, and you have to check constantly on the TV screen if everything you're typing on the phone is getting interpreted correctly, very annoying, that...
