Registering for DIVX to run a privately shot AVI-file
Hello,
I tried running a privately shot AVI-file (from my digital camera) on my TV 52PFL9606K TV, and the TV says I shall register the TV with DIVX on website http://vod.divx.com and gives me a registration code.
Since nowhere there is a description about how to register, I spent half a sunday trying, but I am unsuccessful.
I used a PC to dowload the DIVX-player to arrive at a registration page.
This gives me a file that the TV will not find on the USB stick.
I need step-by-step instructions for normal mortals to enjoy rather than fighting with the electronics.
It is costing me my nerves.
Thnks in advance for your help :-)

Hi
if you want to play back a Divx File, just place this file on an USB Stick and connect it to the TV.
if the TV does not find the file it is not within the TV specs. Please look at the TV manual to see what specifications are supported.

Hi,
thank you for your reply.
My problem is that what I wish to play is an AVI container-MPEG video shot on a Fuji Finepix F100fd camera in the video mode. Its manual says it is AVI (Motion JPEG).
The TV does find the video, but is states that it can't play a write-protected AVI-file if the TV is not registered. It says I shall register on website http://vod.divx.com , but I am unable to find a way to register the TV there. I have the registration code from the TV.
Thanks again for supporting me.
Kind regards,

I got a video converter. What do I have to convert to?
Hello again,
I have a multi-Video converter on my PC, that can convert any video format to any video format.
The Philips specs are not quite precise.
What do I have to convert the video to exactly?
Thanks again.

Hi,
see the supported codec list: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...TS-and-Blu-ray)
You have some options...

Hi Thomas,
my 32PFL9606K/02 with firmware 14.98 is specified to do the job but doesn't recognize the .divx-file , neither on a USB-stick nor via DLNA, which is required to be plaid in order to finalize the .divx registration for DivX-VOD.
My "old" 40PFL9715K/02 can recognize the .divx-file and read the file but it looks like something scrambled. But it is equal to a replay on Win7 using VLC player. Probably the file provided from DivX within the DivX-VOD registration procedure is corrupt ?
Regards,
