WMV movie stops but audio still running

I have a Philips Ariaz 8gb......and have been trying to transfer movies on to it to watch later. I use Windows 7 and have been using the drag and drop method. In doing so Windows asks if I want to convert and transfer. I confirm I do.After it has transferred onto my Ariaz..it gets to about 1 min 30 seconds and the video freezes, but the audio continues as normal.

Should I use Songbird to do the transfer.......or are WMV files no good for playback on the Ariaz.

to use Songbird (though sometimes can be quite problematic) it ensures the media is converted to a file format/codec that supported by the player

Thanks for your info.Yes I sometimes get problems with Songbird with MP3 files...but I'll try it with the video files.....hoping I can see and hear the movies without the present problems.
