32PFL7606H upgrade question
Bought this tv last year and very pleased with it. Recently purchased the PTA01 wifi adapter to expand the tv's usage a little and found that some functions didn't work, BBC iplayer for instance. Today I reconnected the wifi dongle and was asked if this was the first time I had connected it. I answered 'no' and the tv went to a screen which said 'software update found' so I accepted it and it appeared to download the update. The manual states that it will switch itself off and on whilst it updates and not to touch anything so I haven't. It went into standby mode about two hours ago and is still in this state. How long does an update usually take?

Hi,
normally, the TV restarts automatically after 10 seconds... the whole process should only take about 5 minutes.

Thanks for the reply. Oh dear, that doesn't sound too good. This is the first time I've tried to update it so I guess it would take a bit longer than usual, but it's been 3 hours now! Should the tv turn itself back on or do I risk pressing the on button on the remote to wake it from standby? I'll give it another hour.

Update to the update! I pressed the on button on the remote and the tv came back to life. I suspect the update did only take minutes but the manual does say the tv will switch itself back on when the update is complete. The only indication I had anything was happening was the light on the dongle flashed when data was being transferred. This stopped after about 10 mins or so. Anyway it got there in the end.
