BDP3280/12 AVCHD/Blu-Ray playback problem
Hi,
I recorded many videos from german television with my dreambox.
When I put the ts-files onto a usb flash drive or burn them on DVD/Blu Ray (data disc) everything plays fine.
MKV works fine too, seems to be fixed a while ago.
http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...-mkv-container
When I create an AVCHD-DVD or Blu-Ray from the same recordings the video is stuttering extremly.
It happens with all 720p footage, 1080i is okay.

Hi,
I figured out a couple of things:
- the 3280/12 is able to play Main@L4.0 content
- it can play AVCHD/BR files from usb drive
You have to create a folder "AVCHD" to root of USB flash drive and into that folder copy the BDMV directory.
Relating to the AVCHD/Blu-Ray playback problem, I noticed that it has nothing to do with 720p or 1080i. I recorded some 720p stuff from Austrian and Swiss TV channels and they work fine (mkv and AVCHD)
for example:
orCode:Format : BDAV Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec File size : 26.3 MiB Duration : 22s 120ms Overall bit rate : 9 978 Kbps Maximum Overall bit rate : 35.5 Mbps Video ID : 4113 (0x1011) Menu ID : 1 (0x1) Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : Main@L4.0 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 2 frames Format settings, GOP : M=3, N=12 Codec ID : 27 Duration : 22s 180ms Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 9 126 Kbps Maximum bit rate : 9 000 Kbps Width : 1 280 pixels Height : 720 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 50.000 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.198 Stream size : 24.1 MiB (92%) Color primaries : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4, SMPTE RP177 Transfer characteristics : BT.709-5, BT.1361 Matrix coefficients : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4 709, SMPTE RP177
Therefore I think the AVCHD/Blu-Ray playback problem with german television has to do with:Code:Format : BDAV Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec File size : 20.3 MiB Duration : 15s 200ms Overall bit rate : 11.2 Mbps Maximum Overall bit rate : 35.5 Mbps Video ID : 4113 (0x1011) Menu ID : 1 (0x1) Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4.0 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 3 frames Format settings, GOP : M=2, N=24 Codec ID : 27 Duration : 15s 300ms Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 10.3 Mbps Maximum bit rate : 40.0 Mbps Width : 1 280 pixels Height : 720 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 50.000 fps Standard : Component Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.223 Stream size : 18.7 MiB (92%) Color primaries : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4, SMPTE RP177 Transfer characteristics : BT.709-5, BT.1361 Matrix coefficients : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4 709, SMPTE RP177
Would be great if you can fix it. Please tell me if you need a video file to reproduce the problem.Code:Format settings, ReFrames : 5 frames Format settings, GOP : M=16, N=32

hi there,
when i look into the codec table (your model is a 2011 model), it only support these video formats:
hence, ts, bdav, may not be supported. also when you look at the frame rate, it's from 6-30. here you have 50. so this may lead to playability issue.
i also share the same thought with oscar, maybe you hv to convert/ encode your files again.Last edited by Philips - QK; 04-19-2012 at 05:29 AM.
