Remote App, software issues
Dear all,
I have my mci8080 now almost a year, and am still not quite satisfied. The software is quite buggy:
-connection lost
-software freezes
-once in a while I hear continues noise/interference while playing, which is solved by pulling the plug
And the remote for smartphone of works as unstable too. Especially when browsing files on the HDD. Tried Twonky Mobile yesterday, and that works better, but does not offer full remote functionality... but file browsing is way faster and way more stable than the Philips app.
All the software is up to date and got quite some experience with the player now, but keeps unstable.
Does anyone have any tips/apps. It would be nice for sure if Philips would release new software!
Cheers Chris

Hi chrisdude,
Have the same device and am very happy with it.
-For the connection loss, are you far away form your router, wired or wireless, fixed or autochannel?
-When does the software freeze exactly since did not see this
-For the interference is there anyhting close that might cause interference as Dect phones, babymonitor, microwave etc..
Thanks

Hi Lucas,
- I have wireless, but no of my other wifi-devices have any problem with connection.
- Freezing of the 8080 can happen all the time, not an exact moment/event. But the Philips app for Android quits every time when I brows the HDD. Twonky works fine though.
- It's not that kind of interference (the music plays, but a contineous noise is hereable. And I'm only able to stop this noise when I pull the plug and restart. Normal interference would be more unstable and would stop when the source is stopped. But at my player, it starts and only stops when I completely restart.
Over-all not a very stable product and not a stable Android app.. Support from Philips is also lacking.

Philips, please, can you also create this remote app for Windows Phone? I have a Windows Phone device and cannot use the App because it is only available for iOS and Android.
