Playing MKV from from USB
Hi,
Whenever I try to play these files I get the error "File cannot be read or found". If I change the extension to avi it plays but without image.
I have a 47PFL7606H, can it play MKV files? Anyone else has this problem?
Thanks,
Marco

Hi,
MKV is only a container. You need to have supported codecs. Please see: http://www.supportforum.philips.com/...TS-and-Blu-ray)
2010 = 2011

Thanks for the reply.
The same movie works when the filesystem is NTFS but not exFAT (wah? how come?!).
When it is on exFAT I get the error "File not cannot be read or found".
It might have something to do with a combination of exFAT and big files (over 4GB). Any ideias?
Anyway, just changed the format and it works now (would prefer exFAT but...).

Hi
Supported is only NTFS and FAT(32).
exFat might work due to the Fat-family but this is not supported.

Hi,
I've a similar problem on my new 42PFL7666h.
The hardware manual indicates that the .mvk is supported (h.264 codec) video format and HE-AAC, AC3, MP3 & PCM audio codec.
So I've some mkv files and I re-encoded the audio tracks (from DTS) to MP3 or AC3.
So my mkv are (Philips) compliants :
1 video track h264
1 audio track MP3 or AC3.
But the TV don't want to read them (file not supported) from DLNA nor USB. I tested several matroska files.
I updated the firmware (the last one 14.98).
Anyone else has some troubles with playing mkv files ?
Thanks all
Regards

Two scenariis :
- DLNA with Xbmc : file is not read from TV (ok on pc)
- DLNA with "Wild media center" : File is read from TV.
"Wild media Center" (XMC) can transcode movies, so I conclude that the format is not supported by my TV so WMC transcode it.
I think that I need a software who can transcode beacause the TV is restrictive, like XMC but it's not free and not user friendly.
Thanks

For transcode, try this:
