Serie 3500 2012

Any news about software upgrade for 3500 serie.

I have a 32PFL3517H/12. The video audio/codec have a lot of issues in usb/dlna media play.

The only Smart TV function is youtube, with an unusable interface.

Any plan to integrate more apps?

Hi,

the 35x7 is the smallest TV series in 2012 and YouTube is the only available app. For real Smart TV (Net TV) you need to have at least a 4007 series TV.

thanks for you fast reply.

But why sell something with Smart TV feature when real is not?

I bought this TV for this feature for discover that is only youtube.

In add DLNA (also usb) support very few media formats, but by manual, it should support almost all my needs.

The EPG guide is horrible, my samsung tv bought 4 years ago is much better..

I'm not happy with Philips for this, will be my last purchase with this brand if there will be no news about.

However we will sort out a way to make it more visible what the differences are in this year. But we did not promise something, the TV does not do.

Hi Thomas, according products pages web site, you define 'Smart TV Plus' (i.e.: http://www.philips.it/c/televisori/4...l4007h_12/prd/) what the rest of the world simply defines 'Smart TV'.

Maybe, you should define 'Smart TV Less' for 3500 serie and 'Smart TV' for the others ones.

My personal opinion is that not enough a frustrating youtube interface and a not complete DLNA support to make this model a 'Smart TV'.

And what about video calls? What kind of support really offers this model?

But this is only my 2 cents opinion, an opinion of your customer..

I have the same issue with a 32PFL3507H/12 and the "private messaging" part was a waste of my time.

I bought my TV with the same expectation that are based on what is promised in the manual in page 45.

I will quote you page 45, under "What you can do" the "Smart TV" section clearly says the following:

"If you connect the TV to a home network with an Internet connection, you can browse Smart TV. Smart TV offers Internet services and websites tailored to your TV. Play music and videos, consult infotainment, rent movies and much more."

as well as page 3 under "Smart TV" the second point clearly says:

"If you connect your TV to the Internet, you can enjoy a wealth of streaming movies, pictures, music and much more with Youtube Leanback* and other Smart TV* applications."

as well as many other places in the manual that say this tv should have more than what i got !

It took 3 weeks of private messaging since it required 15 private messages in total to explain the information above (I dont really understand why i have to explain Philips manuals to Philips staff !!!)

After 3 weeks of private messaging with the Philips staff, the only useful response i got was stating that this could be a manual error !
I have placed a complain to the local philips support on the 21st of may 2012, the last email i sent them was on the 26th of May 2012! till now there is no reply ! well, at least there was a reply via the private messaging !

so, to sum it up to you, "we have been cheated by Philips".

I'm already proceeding with a lawsuit and I have an appointment to see a lawyer on coming Tuesday.
And if no unexpected guests show up during this weekend, i will make a blog to warn other potential buyers in 4 European languages (English, Spanish, Norwegian and Russian).
