    Exclamation 40pfh5501/88 getting android 7.1.2

    As the title says, 40pfh5501/88 has been upgraded to android 7.1.2, i got this change from last night. So far im not pleased with this update, the tv is noticeably luggy, lost its smoothness for quite a bit even though it solved some problems with the sound. KODI feels very chunky, i dont feel any improvement in its work except for that sound issue which u honestly got used to it.

    Philips, why would you upgrade a tv designed for lolipop to android nougat? Please try to improve the tv performance in the following updates and please take customer opinions in consideration, its a great tv or should i say IT WAS A GREAT TV since this update, I hope things would get back to normal or possibly exceed normal on a positive scale and make it better than default. Thank you


    If anyone else upgraded to android 7.1.2 i would appreciate hering your insight and experience.

    After this update, I've lost all my channels, I tried everything but no progress so far. My TV won't find any digital channel

    I have the same issue! Yesterday my 40PFH5501/88 Android smart TV auto updated the firmware to QM164E_0.16.56.3. After than I lost all my digital channels. It found nothing just analog channels but for God's sake we are in the 21th century. I also tired everything, reinstalled my TV 3 times but nothing. TV not even start to search any digital channels.

    Any good news, any update?
    It's been 2 days without TV and I can't stand it anymore ☹️

    I have spoken with the service (Hungary), they will come next week to pick up my TV.
    They will try to fix the issue.
    "bennycomp" maybe you should also try to call the service in your country.
    If any development I will write.

    I have the same issue with my 40pfh5501 in Bulgaria, after the update to 7.1.2 qm... etc I can not find my dvb-c channels. I suppose it's softwawe problem. Philips please give us fix for this !!!
    Also the tv is being little laggy after the update, I hope the next update will fix all those issues

    Hello.
    a full absurdity with Rumen Bahov. I look forward to an update after 0.1.15.243 will fix my problem of sharing from the phone to the TV and what I get ........ lack of digital channels.Full wretches Phillips.I am from Bulgaria with 49pfh5501/88

    If you are experiencing some issues with the latest update when it comes to the channel installation, please provide me with those information via private message:

    - What type of reception do you use (DVB-T, DVB-C)?
    - Who is your signal provider ?
    - Please advise if name of your provider is visible in the channel installation menu ?
    Do you get better results when you select „Others”, instead of your provider?
    - Are you using the quick or the advanced channel install method ?
    - How did you notice that the channel list was lost? Is an empty list presented when you try to open the channel list ?

    I lost the channels after the update, I tried everything, it's not my first time installing the channels, so it doesn't depend on me. Please fix this with another update

    Hello Patrick,

    In my case and probably in everyone's, I lost dvb-c channels. After the update the tv was being little laggy and I had to make factory reset. After this the tv couldn't find any channels from dvb-c. It is software issue in my opinion. Dvb T is working, but there are a few channels you know. Also I am having random reboots while playing with the Tv after the update.
    PLEASE at least fix the dvb-c problem in the next few days. Meanwhile we all will appreciate if you clean the 7.1.2 we were waiting.

    - What type of reception do you use (DVB-T, DVB-C)?
    I use DVB-C.

    - Who is your signal provider ?
    I think it is pointless. I have another smart TV (Samsung) also, wich is on the same signal provider and DVB-C, works fine. If you want I can send a video.

    - Please advise if name of your provider is visible in the channel installation menu ?
    No it isn't. I have a local signal provider.

    Do you get better results when you select „Others”, instead of your provider?
    I have to choose other

    The TV offered me a firmware update to QM164E_0.16.56.3., I aceppted. The TV downloaded the firmware and restarted to do the update...after than I had a massage: "The TV lost all channels please re-search". The re-search "started" but did not move from 0%, after an hour TV "wrote" "can't find any channels".
    I also think it's a software issue, please fix it.

    The same thing happened to me.
    I do not know ............ tragedy. How long will we be without TV.
    2,3,4months. How many philips?
