No Sound from DVD reader connected to HDMI
TV: type: 32PFL5606H/12 s/n: FZ1A1202039501
firmware level: TPM 62E 2.24
---------
DVD connected to HDMI2 - but the same problem with HDMI1
TV and DVD reader starts et power-off status.
1. Power-on TV.
2. Select source from EXT1 to HDMI2
3. Power-on DVD Reader.
4. Insert ad DVD into the DVD Reader -> load and start.
5. There is the movie BUT NO SOUND AT ALL.
6. Hot unplug cable connected to HDMI2 at TV side. -> No signal(normal)
7. Hot plug cable connected to HDMI2 at TV side. -> MOVIE WITH SOUND.
Is this a bug of the TV or the TV software ? What could be done to avoid steps 5, 6 and 7 ?

Hi
did this happen after a Software Upgrade?
Do you see the same behavior on a different TV or a different DVD Player.

This bug is not a result of a software upgrade, i have this issue before any upgrade, after the first upgrade and now after the second upgrade.
I have only a Philips DVD reader, not a second one for your testing.
Before i buy and install this tv i had another tv, a Samsung.
The current DVD reader was plugged on the samsung using the scart connection and i did not exhibit this problem in this configuration.
So, it looks definitivley a HDMI problem with the TV. I have seen some corrections in the prévious upgrade file history speaking about HDMI sound problem dissapearing ... This case is not a dissappearing problem, but no sound at start.

Hi
well it is a little bit to easy to say its a problem of the TV, specially when you were not able to test HDMI connection to the Samsung...
If you want to know where it comes from, test another Device on this TV or this Player on another TV via HDMI.

Hi
huh? who said you should buy something?
I'm sure you know somebody with a TV with HDMI connection.
And in case you don't, I'm sure a local retailer will be able to help you out.

Hi
thats true, it is no easy but it is impossible if you don't try.
You now have 2 chances, you can give it a try or you can still try to argue that it is the TV...
however, i will leave this conversation and wish you good luck with whatever way you choose.
Best wishes and a nice Weekend

I agree that i should find a way to prove what i suspect.
In fact i have an intermittent sound problem and i thinked about the fact that the tv could be the cause.
This thinking came from my reading about a software patch i can see in the patchs history here:
-----------------
TPM62E_2.18 (Date published: 2011-10-06)
• Intermittent sound lost when you connect an external device via HDMI.
-----------------
This patch correct an intermittent sound problem, but it could be that there exist another situation (my issue) not covered.
That was the reason why i post my complain.
