Using HDMI and Composite Video ( HTB5540D)

I'm considering buying the HTB5540D or HTB5510D. I want to connect the HDMI Out to my TV and the Composite Video to my Beamer. I don't watch them at the same time of course, but I don't want to plug and unplug cables all the time. The Media box is connected to the HDMI-IN of the Home cinema set.
Is this supported? The home cinema set shouldn't disable the Video out when a HDMI cable is connected and should be able to transmit signal from the HDMI-IN to the Video-Out. I don't see any restrictions in the User Manual for the HTB5540D and HTB5510D, but I like to verify, because other device have restrictions

Cant answear your question with HTB5540D or HTB5510D, But I have the blurayplayer BDP9700 and connected tv with composite and proj with HDMI. ( same as you but the other way around :-) )
If the power to the HDMI connected projektor is off then its working to send signal on composite connected device. But just as the projektor is in standby or turned on it wont send picture through composite to my tv.

So you dont have to unplug the HDMI cable if you push the mainswitch on your tv ( if it has that, modern tv often only have stndby )
Hope someone else can get a more correct answear to your question. This was only a workaraound.

    Hi,

also - if you have some encrypted content, it won't show on composite. For example, if you are watching some VOD movies: the composite will be switched off...

Maybe this also holds for Blu-ray.
