Is 3D really working on 55PFL7606?
Hey.
I'm trying to play 3D content with my 55PFL7606.
I have used the youtube app in "smart tv". But I can't enable 3D though the options menu in the tv. With a few clips I can enable 3D but the quality is very bad, my eyes are hurting.
Is there anyone out there with good experience with 3D on this model? I tried to connect my laptop and try some 3D movies, it didn't work. I will try with my new media center soon.

Hi B|G1
Video no. 1 and 2 are anaglyph (red/green filter) you need a special goggle for that (one eye with green and the other with red).
3rd video has 3D and the TV works like a charm, however, the video material is bad: the video perceptive (for 3D you need to capture the scene from 2 angles) is not close enough to have a brilliant 3D experience.
Go to a store with different TV sets and try to view this vid on different sets. It will allways look the same.

My opinion :
(1) Some of the youtube 3D clips are actually not properly formulated --- some uploaders may just create the videos by using certain software and put two sets of pictures or movies side-by-side or top-and-bottom and think this will make their video 3D. But they are not real 3Ds! I think TV will not recognize these types of 3D clips (because there are some info missing in the content headers) and TV will not enable its 3D option for users to toggle. Some of these 'side-by-side' 3D clips might not even be play back properly in youtube via pc itself.
(2) If you own a passive 3D TV, then when playing 3D clips within the youtube apps in the smart TV, the TV picture format MUST set to ‘unscale’ mode to get the best effect --- all other modes will likely cause undesirable 3D effects. This is because passive 3D TV uses interlaced panel and to creat 3D effect, the even and odd horizontal lines of the video must fall exactly onto the even and odd polarized lines of the TV screen to be seen by either left or right eyes through earing polarised goggle.
(3) When connect PC to TV via VGA or HDMI cable, you have to set PC’s graphic output resolution to match the TV's panel resolution (say 1920x1080), plus select ‘unscale’ picture format for the TV. Note that some computer might not have proper graphics driver installed and if this is the case, then you may not be able to select resolution of 1920x1080 from PC's ‘Display properties”.
(4) So far I see the best way to see 3D effect on the TV is download 3D youtube clips (from PC) and playback via USB. You can find out how to download them via Google search.
