    HTS5580/12 shows incorrect aspect ratio

    Hi all,

    I have been battling with this for quite some time to no avail.

    I often watch videos with my HTS5580/12 via my external HDD connected to the USB. For some reason a lot of 720p and 1080p videos show completely stretched horizontally on my TV. I checked the info from my TV and it seems like the player is giving out the video in 4:3 ratio regardless of the ratio of the video or the ratio I've entered in the player settings. No matter which setting I use the output is always 4:3.

    Any idea what's causing this? It only happens with videos via the USB, all blu-ray discs play completely fine.

    Try disconnecting your HDD cable and then connect it back all together. That should do the trick.
